{"id":15540,"date":"2017-08-20T09:30:09","date_gmt":"2017-08-20T09:30:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/newsroom247.com.ng\/?p=15540"},"modified":"2017-08-20T09:30:09","modified_gmt":"2017-08-20T09:30:09","slug":"huge-crowd-celebrates-buharis-return-as-group-says-its-not-an-achievement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/newsroom247.com.ng\/?p=15540","title":{"rendered":"HUGE CROWD CELEBRATES BUHARI&#8217;S RETURN AS GROUP SAYS IT&#8217;S NOT AN ACHIEVEMENT"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><code><script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script><br \/>\n<!-- www.deltanewsroom.com --><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: block;\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-2163942495525027\" data-ad-slot=\"1411897411\" data-ad-format=\"auto\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\n(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><\/code><\/p>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Thousands of pro-President Muhammadu Buhari protesters\u00a0<span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_1052169402\"><span class=\"aQJ\">on Saturday<\/span><\/span>\u00a0temporarily blocked the highway along the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja (NAIA) singing and dancing to welcome President Buhari from London.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that security personnel deployed to ensure smooth traffic flows along the highway abandoned their duty posts as they could not control the crowds, shouting \u201cSai Baba Buhari\u2019\u2019.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Some of the pro-Buhari protesters were also heard casting and shouting unprintable words at Charles Oputa, otherwise known as Charly Boy, who led a protest movement calling on President Buhari to return home or resign.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Another set of protesters also stormed the Supreme Court\u2019s gate of the Presidential Villa, begging the security personnel on duty to allow them enter the main premises of the Villa to welcome the President.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">NAN reports that President Buhari, who returned to Abuja\u00a0<span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_1052169403\"><span class=\"aQJ\">on Saturday<\/span><\/span>\u00a0without his wife, Aisha, was received at the airport by the acting President, Yemi Osinbajo, six state governors, ministers and some presidential aides.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">NAN reliably learnt that Aisha Buhari, who was with her husband in London during his medical vacation, would soon be returning to Nigeria.<\/div>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.alternativeadvert.com\/show.php?z=30&amp;pl=14118&amp;ad_type=59&amp;rl=180\" width=\"300\" height=\"250\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>However, following the return of President Muhammadu Buhari from the United Kingdom where he had been since May 7 for medical attention, the co-convener of the #ResumeOrResign group, Deji Adeyanju, has slammed the Federal Government for celebrating his return.<\/p>\n<p>Adeyanju, along with popular musician, Charles Oputa, aka Charly Boy, had protested for about 10 days, asking Buhari to either resume or resign.<\/p>\n<p>The protest was, however, called off on Wednesday after they were attacked by Buhari supporters during a protest at Wuse Market, Abuja.<\/p>\n<p>In a series of tweets, Adeyanju said, \u201cGod bless Nigeria. God bless our President. It\u2019s now time to fight corruption, create jobs. Bring Nigeria out of recession. Henceforth, truth.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHowever, I must condemn the APC and members of this government celebrating the arrival of the President as if it\u2019s some sort of achievement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis government has not achieved anything in over two years. How then can they be celebrating arrival of Buhari after 103 days? Clueless people<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe President must unite the country. There\u2019s practically nothing worth celebrating after 103 days away from Nigeria.
