{"id":15282,"date":"2017-07-27T20:38:13","date_gmt":"2017-07-27T20:38:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/newsroom247.com.ng\/?p=15282"},"modified":"2017-07-27T20:38:13","modified_gmt":"2017-07-27T20:38:13","slug":"presidential-directive-on-relocation-of-oics-hq-to-niger-delta-is-a-rumour-minister","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/newsroom247.com.ng\/?p=15282","title":{"rendered":"PRESIDENTIAL DIRECTIVE ON RELOCATION OF OIC&#8217;S HQ TO NIGER DELTA IS A RUMOUR &#8211; MINISTER"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><code><script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script><br \/>\n<!-- www.deltanewsroom.com --><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: block;\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-2163942495525027\" data-ad-slot=\"1411897411\" data-ad-format=\"auto\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\n(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><\/code><\/p>\n<div dir=\"auto\">The recent reported directive by the Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, to international oil companies (IOCs) to relocate their headquarters to the Niger Delta region is being mired in confusion.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Osinbajo was reported to have in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State early this year, directed the IOCs to relocate their headquarters to the oil-rich region, a directive that is yet to be complied with.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Many prominent citizens from the region have since the reported presidential order clamoured for compliance by the IOCs.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">However, responding to a question on the said directive at a stakeholders\u2019 meeting in Abuja yesterday, the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Pastor Usani Uguru Usani said he had heard unofficially from many people, including chieftains of IOCs that the reported order was a mere rumour.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.alternativeadvert.com\/show.php?z=30&amp;pl=13834&amp;ad_type=59&amp;rl=180\" width=\"300\" height=\"250\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<div dir=\"auto\">The stakeholders\u2019 meeting had in attendance top executives of IOCs, federal government officials, representatives of the nine oil producing states in the Niger Delta, and Presidential Amnesty Office, among others.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">However, none of the representatives could categorically speak on the reported presidential order.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Speaking at the forum, Usani who was the convener, said the forum had received a draft report on the work plan which would serve as a guide for the putting up and implementation of projects in the Niger Delta region in the next one and half years.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\u201cBut today, we are able to see a draft report of the 2017 to 2019 work plan. We are not saying action plan or master plan, we are saying work plan.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\u201cThat means by this plan_ our work will be guided. So we are not just formulating what we will do, we are now talking about how we will do, where we will do it, who will do it. That is why it is called a work plan for one and half years\u2013between 2017 and 2019,\u201d the minister said.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Usani explained that a reasonable point had being attained in the design, adding that \u201cthere are many plans, there are many programme.
