It is also an offence to spray, dance or match on the Naira note or any note issued by the Central Bank during social occasions,\u201d the Lagos Police Public Relations Department says in a statement issued today.<\/p>\n<p><code><script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script><br \/>\n<!-- www.deltanewsroom.com --><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: block;\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-2163942495525027\" data-ad-slot=\"1411897411\" data-ad-format=\"auto\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\n(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><\/code><\/p>\n<p>To kick-start the offensive against Naira abuse, six members of a syndicate involved in illegal currency trafficking were arrested today at Oshodi and Lagos Island areas of the state.<\/p>\n<p><em>Newsmakersng<\/em> learnt that the syndicate was smashed in a joint operation by the police and CBN officials.<\/p>\n<p>According to the police, the suspects were caught with N855, 290 in N20, N50 and N200 denominations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe suspects have violated Section 21, sub-section (4) of the Central Bank of Nigeria Act, 2007 and shall be brought to justice accordingly,\u201d says the police.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.alternativeadvert.com\/show.php?z=30&amp;pl=12584&amp;ad_type=59&amp;rl=180\" width=\"300\" height=\"250\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The statement further says, \u201cOn a need to know, and for the avoidance of doubt, the law in question makes it a punishable offence for any person to hawk, sell or otherwise trade in the Naira notes, coins or any other note issued by the Central Bank.
