{"id":13456,"date":"2017-02-22T21:30:05","date_gmt":"2017-02-22T21:30:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/newsroom247.com.ng\/?p=13456"},"modified":"2017-02-22T21:30:05","modified_gmt":"2017-02-22T21:30:05","slug":"fg-to-streamline-number-of-agencies-operating-in-ports-from-eight-to-six","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/newsroom247.com.ng\/?p=13456","title":{"rendered":"FG to streamline number of agencies operating in ports from eight to six"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><code><script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script><br \/>\n<!-- www.deltanewsroom.com --><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: block;\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-2163942495525027\" data-ad-slot=\"1411897411\" data-ad-format=\"auto\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\n(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><\/code><\/p>\n<div class=\"col-md-12 col-lg-8\">\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<p>The Federal Government is currently working towards streamlining the number of agencies operating in the nation\u2019s ports<a href=\"http:\/\/newsroom247.com.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/NPA.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-13457\" src=\"http:\/\/newsroom247.com.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/NPA-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"NPA\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" srcset=\"http:\/\/newsroom247.com.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/NPA-300x169.jpg 300w, http:\/\/newsroom247.com.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/NPA.jpg 620w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a> to only six from about eight.<\/p>\n<p>This is part of the decisions reached at an expanded meeting of the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council presided over by the Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<div class=\"inserted_ad\"><\/div>\n<p>According to a statement by the council\u2019s secretariat, the meeting approved a national action plan to be implemented across its three priority areas of entry and exit of goods; entry and exit of people; and government transparency and procurement over the next 60 days to deliver tangible changes for Small and Medium-scale Enterprises in Nigeria.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.alternativeadvert.com\/show.php?z=30&amp;pl=12465&amp;ad_type=59&amp;rl=180\" width=\"300\" height=\"250\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The reforms, the statement added, would also help improve Nigeria\u2019s ranking in the World Bank Doing Business Index 2018.<\/p>\n<p>The statement read in part, \u201cThe reforms are to be implemented by the Enabling Business Environment Secretariat, which became operational in October 2016 and has Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Industry, Trade and Investment as its coordinator.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Council was also briefed on the forthcoming EBES stakeholders\u2019 engagement forum scheduled for Kano and Lagos on February 23 and 24, respectively. The forums are part of steps being taken to receive feedback and ensure widespread adoption of the PEBEC reforms.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOne of the reforms to be implemented to ease the process of starting a business is the upgrade of the CAC online portal to ensure document upload capabilities that will make it possible for new businesses to be registered online from start to finish without having to visit the CAC office.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAlso, work is ongoing to streamline the number of agencies operating at the nation\u2019s ports to just six.
