\nOGONI-OLOMU- TWO years after the death of Nigeria\u2019s first Female Ambassador, late Mrs. Elizabeth Ogbon-Day, \u00a0 at 62 years, her love-sick father, the Ohworode (traditional ruler) of Olomu Kingdom in Delta State, HRM, Ovie Richard Layaiguen Ogbon, Ogoni-Oghoro I, JP, has agonizingly revealed that she was killed by witches.<\/p>\n

Confession in the palace<\/strong><\/p>\n

The ninety-seven-year-old monarch ordained Royal Canon in the Anglican Communion, some years ago, spoke to Niger Delta Voice<\/em><\/strong> in his palace. He said one of the witches, a blood relation and members of her coven, who killed her, confessed her despicable role in his palace.<\/p>\n

\u201cI cannot do anything, God has taken her away, in 2013, one of the great descendants of my father confessed here that she was part of those responsible for her death, she is a witch, she confessed here,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

I was the target<\/strong><\/p>\n

HRM Ogoni-Oghoro I said he (royal father) was the real target of the collection of witches, but when they could not get him because of the wall of fire built around him by God Almighty, they swung the death arrow to Elizabeth, who slumped in her house at Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area of the state, May 10, 2012, and died before medical help could come to her.<\/p>\n

Reminiscence<\/strong><\/p>\n

His words, \u201cNow, incidentally what happened has happened, it was a very great pain, her colleagues, even the ones I did not know all came, and today, if I watch television and see her peers, I remember her, but what can I do?<\/p>\n

.Wounded heart<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cShe mentioned some people, who have been my enemies and how\u00a0 they wanted to kill me, but connived together to kill my daughter, what can I do as a Christian.\u00a0\u00a0 If somebody says the incident did not wound my heart, it is a lie but what can I do? God has taken a decision but I know that one day, we shall meet in eternity,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

According to him, \u201cWell, it is a very painful incident, it is a bitter pill given to me to swallow unexpectedly, God is supreme, without Him sanctioning something, it cannot happen, and in the Bible, it is said that there is time for everything, some people die young, some at old age.\u201d<\/p>\n

Gone with her dream <\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cPerhaps for those who die young as it is said, those that God loves die young. My daughter, even in 1983 wanted to be the Governor of the defunct Bendel State then, I warned her not to go, as she was very young, but she was dogged in her vision. Without fighting, struggling and without a godfather, she was appointed the first female ambassador of Nigeria.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201c I can assure you if I was not a Christian, what happened would have been worse, they wanted to wreak a catastrophic havoc, she was someone close,\u00a0\u00a0 very dear\u00a0\u00a0 and loving to me,\u00a0\u00a0 but that is it. The most painful part of it is that for a long time she has been in USA, but this time she decided to come to be in Nigeria and work with fellow Nigerians,\u201d he asserted.<\/p>\n

The monarch said,\u00a0\u00a0 \u201cShe had been at Warri but she just relocated to Abuja with a view to be closer to the seat of power, and she told me categorically that after being in the USA and understanding democracy, that she will see what she could do to help fellow Nigerians, particularly the women. Witches did not allow her to fulfill her dream for the country.\u201d<\/p>\n
