Yet, some clowns would still come to defend this dubious acts from the Arch-Saint in Aso Rock who has succeeded in stealing our commonwealth by pretence&#8230;&#8230;<br \/>\nThe State House Headquarters budget for \u201cHonorarium\/<br \/>\nSitting Allowance\u201d is 556,592,736. Let me remind you that<br \/>\nthe previous government budgeted 174,471,371 for same<br \/>\nitem in 2015, while in 2016, this administration jacked it up<br \/>\nto 507,518, 861.<br \/>\nThe State House Headquarters still continues to budget for<br \/>\n\u201cResidential Rent.\u201d This is something I have failed to<br \/>\nunderstand up till now and I wouldn\u2019t mind someone<br \/>\nexplaining it to me. That aside, the amount budgeted for<br \/>\nthis \u201cResidential Rent\u201d in 2015 was 22,459,575, while in<br \/>\n2016 it was put at 27,735,643.<br \/>\nI don\u2019t know how or why, but in the 2017 budget of<br \/>\n\u201cRecovery and Growth,\u201d this same \u201cResidential Rent\u201d went<br \/>\nup to 77,545,700. Whoever the Landlord of that State House<br \/>\nHeadquarters is, in this economy, he must be a very lucky<br \/>\nand fortunate chap.<br \/>\nThere is an 8,539,200 budget for \u201cAnti-Corruption\u201d and I\u2019m<br \/>\nperplexed as to what exactly it is.<br \/>\nThe last time there was a budget for \u201cMotor Vehicles\u201d or<br \/>\nanything like that was in the 2014 budget by the last<br \/>\nadministration and it was a total of 132,200,000. This<br \/>\ngovernment came in in 2016 and somehow concluded that<br \/>\nthe State House Headquarters did not have enough \u201cMotor<br \/>\nVehicles,\u201d so they started by budgeting 877,015,000 which<br \/>\nwas something like a 650% increase from the 2014 budget<br \/>\nfor the same item.<br \/>\nThe State House Headquarters still doesn\u2019t think there are<br \/>\nenough \u201cMotor Vehicles,\u201d so in 2017 they have budgeted a<br \/>\ntotal of 197,000,000 for the purchase of \u201cMotor Vehicles\u201d<br \/>\nand \u201cBuses.\u201d At this rate, by 2019, this government<br \/>\nwould\u2019ve succeeded in buying enough \u201cMotor Vehicles\u201d to<br \/>\ndrive the entire country off the edge.<br \/>\n2016 will end up being one of the darkest years in this<br \/>\ncountry in relation to power supply. So, I do not<br \/>\nunderstand where the State House Headquarters got<br \/>\nmegawatts from in 2016 that they have now budgeted<br \/>\n319,625,753 for \u201cElectricity Charge\u201d in 2017. Just so you<br \/>\nknow, the \u201cElectricity Charge\u201d for 2016 was put at<br \/>\n45,332,433.<br \/>\nThe 2016 State House Headquarters budget for the<br \/>\n\u201cRehabilitation\/Repairs of Residential Buildings\u201d was<br \/>\n642,568,122, while in 2017, I don\u2019t know, but it looks like an<br \/>\nenormous asteroid managed to hit and destroy the<br \/>\nresidential building at the State House Headquarters<br \/>\nbecause what is budgeted for \u201cRehabilitation\/Repairs of<br \/>\nResidential Buildings\u201d happens to be 5,625,752,757.<br \/>\nAs usual, knowing that we have travelling President,<br \/>\n739,487,784 has been budgeted for \u201cInternational Travel &amp;<br \/>\nTransport.\u201d Last year only the Vice President budgeted for<br \/>\nbooks. This year neither the President nor his Vice<br \/>\nbudgeted for it. Apparently, they\u2019re tired of reading.<br \/>\nJust like in last year\u2019s budget, the entire capital budget for<br \/>\nthe National Emergency Management Agency is for the<br \/>\n\u201cConstruction of Office Building,\u201d all 374,473,456 of it.<br \/>\nThe Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has<br \/>\nbudgeted 5,999,070,468 for the \u201cConstruction\/Provision of<br \/>\nOffice Buildings.\u201d In 2016 they spent 58,434,683 on that. If<br \/>\nyou do the math, that\u2019s an increase of over 10,000% and<br \/>\nqualifies as an economic and financial crime.<br \/>\nThe Economic and Financial Crimes Commission also<br \/>\nbudgeted 230,536,000 for \u201cLegal Services.\u201d I don\u2019t know if<br \/>\nthis is enough, but since they say it is; and as long as none<br \/>\nof that amount goes to the case-bumbling, Twitter SAN,<br \/>\nFestus Keyamo, no wahala.<\/p>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script><br \/>\n<!-- www.deltanewsroom.com --><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: block;\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-2163942495525027\" data-ad-slot=\"1411897411\" data-ad-format=\"auto\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\n(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><\/p>\n<p>In 2016 the EFCC budgeted 93,136,000 for \u201cMotor Vehicles,\u201d<br \/>\nbut since maybe the corruption they should be fighting has<br \/>\ngotten faster, they have upped that to 455,000,000. So if<br \/>\nyou had a plan of running away from the EFCC, I am sorry,<br \/>\nthey will have almost half a billion Naira worth of cars to<br \/>\nchase you with. It is a car race now you know.<br \/>\nThere a line item in the EFCC budget that mentions the<br \/>\n\u201cProcurement and Upgrade of Microsoft Product Licences\u201d<br \/>\nwhich 142,237,198 was set aside for. This is as vague as<br \/>\nsomething can get, and when it comes to corruptly<br \/>\nenriching yourself, being vague is the best bet.<br \/>\nIn 2016 3,260,000 was budgeted by the EFCC for the<br \/>\n\u201cPurchase of Photocopiers\u201d while in the 2017 budget<br \/>\n13,755,000 is the magic number.<br \/>\n1,100,595,088 has been budgeted for the \u201cFurnishing of the<br \/>\nNew Head Office\u201d whose construction cost in the 2016<br \/>\nbudget was put at 7,912,502,911. Now, guess what. There is<br \/>\na budget for the \u201cConsultancy of the Head Office Project\u201d<br \/>\nand 244,727,624 is budgeted for it. I am sorry; you will<br \/>\nhave to guess what again.<br \/>\nLet me not stress you, 4,583,616,838 is budgeted for the<br \/>\n\u201cCompletion of Ongoing New Head Office Building<br \/>\nConstruction\u201d which 7,912,502,911 was budgeted for in<br \/>\n2016, bringing the total to 12,496,119,749. For those of you<br \/>\nthat numbers scare, that is over twelve billion Naira for the<br \/>\nconstruction of the EFCC new head office.
