These include high blood pressure, posterior and anterior rupture, asthma, chronic sinusitis, among others.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div id=\"m_-2986834320537628915yui_3_16_0_1_1480179026644_6070\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"m_-2986834320537628915yui_3_16_0_1_1480179026644_6072\"><span id=\"m_-2986834320537628915yui_3_16_0_1_1480179026644_6073\"><span id=\"m_-2986834320537628915yui_3_16_0_1_1480179026644_6074\" style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">Some of the ex-staff are: Dasilva Ayodeji, Winston Ofulue, Awe Ayodele and Alabi Adekunle. Others are Folarin Shasudeen, Makinde Timothy, and Jokanola Folarin. <span id=\"m_-2986834320537628915yui_3_16_0_1_1480179026644_6075\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><u><\/u><u><\/u><\/span><\/div>\n<div id=\"m_-2986834320537628915yui_3_16_0_1_1480179026644_6077\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"m_-2986834320537628915yui_3_16_0_1_1480179026644_6079\"><span id=\"m_-2986834320537628915yui_3_16_0_1_1480179026644_6080\"><span id=\"m_-2986834320537628915yui_3_16_0_1_1480179026644_6081\" style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">At the press briefing which had as theme: \u201cBATN stop anti-labour practices in Nigeria!\u201d, BATN ex-staff, Folarin Shamsudeen explained that due to the poor conditions of the tobacco company\u2019s factory in Ibadan, he was exposed to tobacco harms which led to chronic sinusitis, high blood pressure and ingrown nail toe. He lamented that the company disengaged him when the situation degenerated.<\/span><u><\/u><u><\/u><\/span><\/div>\n<div id=\"m_-2986834320537628915yui_3_16_0_1_1480179026644_6083\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"m_-2986834320537628915yui_3_16_0_1_1480179026644_6085\"><span id=\"m_-2986834320537628915yui_3_16_0_1_1480179026644_6086\"><span id=\"m_-2986834320537628915yui_3_16_0_1_1480179026644_6087\" style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">Dasilva Ayodeji revealed that he could no longer work well due to the pressure of the work and had to depend on clutches to move.<\/span><u><\/u><u><\/u><\/span><\/div>\n<div id=\"m_-2986834320537628915yui_3_16_0_1_1480179026644_6089\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"m_-2986834320537628915yui_3_16_0_1_1480179026644_6116\"><span id=\"m_-2986834320537628915yui_3_16_0_1_1480179026644_6092\"><span id=\"m_-2986834320537628915yui_3_16_0_1_1480179026644_6093\" style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">Jokanola Folarin David who explained that he was part of the installation team at BATN Ibadan factory said \u201cI worked as a contract staff for over nine months before I was confirmed as a BATN staff.<span id=\"m_-2986834320537628915yui_3_16_0_1_1480179026644_6094\">\u00a0 <\/span>This was after going through medical evaluation and series of examination.<\/span><\/span><span id=\"m_-2986834320537628915yui_3_16_0_1_1480179026644_6117\"><span id=\"m_-2986834320537628915yui_3_16_0_1_1480179026644_6119\" style=\"font-family: Calibri;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div id=\"m_-2986834320537628915yui_3_16_0_1_1480179026644_6120\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"m_-2986834320537628915yui_3_16_0_1_1480179026644_6122\"><span id=\"m_-2986834320537628915yui_3_16_0_1_1480179026644_6123\"><span id=\"m_-2986834320537628915yui_3_16_0_1_1480179026644_6124\" style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">Going further he said \u201cI was medically certified fit to work at the primary manufacturing department, Ibadan.<span id=\"m_-2986834320537628915yui_3_16_0_1_1480179026644_6125\">\u00a0 <\/span>This is where we receive tobacco, condition it and re-dry it before sending to senior manufacturing department where it will be repacked to cigarette.\u201d<\/span><u><\/u><u><\/u><\/span><\/div>\n<div id=\"m_-2986834320537628915yui_3_16_0_1_1480179026644_6127\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"m_-2986834320537628915yui_3_16_0_1_1480179026644_6129\"><span id=\"m_-2986834320537628915yui_3_16_0_1_1480179026644_6130\"><span id=\"m_-2986834320537628915yui_3_16_0_1_1480179026644_6131\" style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">He however lamented that most of the machines used in the Ibadan factory are scrapped or obsolete and brought from South Africa and other regions of the world where they were no longer being used.<\/span><u><\/u><u><\/u><\/span><\/div>\n<div id=\"m_-2986834320537628915yui_3_16_0_1_1480179026644_6133\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"m_-2986834320537628915yui_3_16_0_1_1480179026644_6135\"><span id=\"m_-2986834320537628915yui_3_16_0_1_1480179026644_6136\"><span id=\"m_-2986834320537628915yui_3_16_0_1_1480179026644_6137\" style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">\u201cThe factory is extremely hot and not fit for human beings. But alas!
