{"id":12445,"date":"2016-11-22T21:29:52","date_gmt":"2016-11-22T21:29:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/newsroom247.com.ng\/?p=12445"},"modified":"2016-11-22T21:29:52","modified_gmt":"2016-11-22T21:29:52","slug":"fg-to-pay-ioc-cash-call-arrears-within-a-five-year-time-frame-kachikwu","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/newsroom247.com.ng\/?p=12445","title":{"rendered":"FG to pay IOC cash call arrears within a five-year time frame &#8211; Kachikwu"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><code><script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script><br \/>\n<!-- www.deltanewsroom.com --><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: block;\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-2163942495525027\" data-ad-slot=\"1411897411\" data-ad-format=\"auto\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\n(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><\/code><\/p>\n<div class=\"small-12 medium-9 right column\">\n<div class=\"article-content\">\n<div class=\"post-body xt-post-content\">\n<div>\n<div id=\"yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1479837941660_2395\">Dr Ibe Kachikwu, Minister of State for Petroleum said that the Federal government would pay the 5.1 billion dollars Joint Venture Cash Call arrears owed International Oil Companies, IOC, within a five-year time frame.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1479837941660_2394\">The Minister gave the assurance at \u00a0inaugural meeting of the National Council for Hydrocarbon in Abuja on Tuesday.<\/div>\n<p><code><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.alternativeadvert.com\/show.php?z=30&amp;pl=11652&amp;ad_type=59&amp;rl=180\" width=\"300\" height=\"250\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/code><\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<div id=\"yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1479837941660_2441\">He \u00a0said the repayment timeline was part of the concessions Nigeria got from the IOCs<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div id=\"yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1479837941660_2426\">\u00a0He added that the country was able to secure a discount of 1.7 billion dollars from the negotiations with the IOCs<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div id=\"yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1479837941660_2393\">Commenting on crude oil out put, he said it has risen to around 1.9 million barrels per day.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div id=\"yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1479837941660_2389\">It will be recalled that due to the activities of vandals and militants in the Niger Delta, Nigeria\u2019s crude oil output had dropped to as low as around 900,000 barrels per day, a far cry from the 2.2 million barrels per day benchmark in the 2016 budget.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div id=\"yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1479837941660_2407\">\u00a0He stated that the vandalisation of the Forcados pipeline, negatively impacted on the country\u2019s crude oil output, while he noted that the issue was currently being addressed.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div id=\"yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1479837941660_2435\">He said, \u201cIn terms of crude oil output, we are still not where we should be.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\u201cThese days, I am always conscious about giving figures so that I do not attract attention unnecessarily.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div id=\"yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1479837941660_2436\">\u201cObviously, the Forcados incident did impact us. My guess is that we are moving closer to 1.9 million barrels per day at this point. We are still managing the issue.\u201d<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div id=\"yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1479837941660_2408\">\u00a0He further stated that the National Council on Hydrocarbon, which was approved by President Muhammadu Buhari would function as an advisory body and would contribute ideas that would be used in policy formulation in the petroleum industry.<\/div>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script><br \/>\n<!-- www.deltanewsroom.com --><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: block;\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-2163942495525027\" data-ad-slot=\"1411897411\" data-ad-format=\"auto\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\n(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<div id=\"yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1479837941660_2409\">\u00a0\u201cEverybody is invited to participate in that; we create ideas so that we use the ideas to formulate policies.
