The General Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Pastor William Kumuyi, has urged Nigerians to develop good health habits to avoid contracting the deadly Ebola Virus Disease.<\/p>\n

Kumuyi said this on Sunday during a worldwide satellite broadcast to members of the church.<\/p>\n

While speaking on the topic, \u2018Healing and Health for the Whole Man\u2019, the pastor challenged his congregation to do more for their safety and health, aside praying.<\/p>\n

He said, \u201cMany people have the idea that it is only prayer that gets them well and make them whole and healthy.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you look at the Scriptures, you will discover that there are a number of things that contribute to our healing and health.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese things include our habits, holiness, hope, home, happiness, hospitality and hygiene.\u201d<\/p>\n

While talking about hygiene, Kumuyi said people should not neglect basic health rules that will keep them from contracting the Ebola Virus.<\/p>\n

\u201cHygiene plays a great part in our health. The Ebola epidemic that people just recognised in Nigeria was first discovered in 1976. It\u2019s been on for a long time.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you\u2019re not hygienic, you can contract the disease. For example, If you don\u2019t wash your hands often, or you stay with someone who has the disease, it is contagious; and if there is the passing of fluids from one person to another, you may also get it. But if you keep yourself hygienic, it keeps sicknesses from coming upon you. That\u2019s why you read in the Old Testament, \u2018touch not the unclean things\u2019,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

While quoting from Proverbs 13 verse 3, he said the misuse of the tongue had also brought untold suffering and sickness on some people.<\/p>\n

Kumuyi urged sick folks to anchor their hope on Christ, adding that there was provision for their healing in the Scriptures if they believed.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
