The attack was claimed by Islamic State.<\/p>\n<p>Jacques Hamel, a Catholic priest, was killed on Tuesday, July 26 by two attackers who interrupted Mass\u00a0at\u00a0Saint-Etienne-du-Rouvray in France.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"content-list-component text\">\n<p>\u201cI think that in nearly all religions there is a always a small fundamentalist group,\u201d he said, adding \u201cWe have them,\u201d referring to Catholicism.<\/p>\n<p><script src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\" async=\"\"><\/script><br \/>\n <!-- www.deltanewsroom.com --><br \/>\n <ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: block;\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-2163942495525027\" data-ad-slot=\"1411897411\" data-ad-format=\"auto\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\/\/ <![CDATA[\n(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n\/\/ ]]><\/script><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t like to talk about Islamic violence because every day when I look at the papers I see violence here in Italy &#8211; someone killing his girlfriend, someone killing his mother-in-law. These are baptized Catholics,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf I speak of Islamic violence, I have to speak of Catholic violence. Not all Muslims are violent,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He said there were various causes of terrorism.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI know it dangerous to say this but terrorism grows when there is no other option and when money is made a god and it, instead of the person, is put at the center of the world economy,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat is the first form of terrorism. That is a basic terrorism against all humanity. Let\u2019s talk about that,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>When he started the trip on Wednesday, Francis said the killing of the priest and a string of string of other attacks were proof the \u201cworld is at war\u201d but that it was not caused by religion.<\/p>\n<p>He told reporters on the plane that lack of economic opportunities for young people in Europe was also to blame for terrorism.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI ask myself how many young people that we Europeans have left devoid of ideals, who do not have work.
