Your Excellency try and save the temple\u201d \u201c Who is killing DESOPADEC<br \/>\n?\u201d \u201c We say \u201cNo\u201d to selective payments\u201d and \u201cYour Excellency give<br \/>\nDESOPADEC a bail fund to clear up outstanding certificates. \u201c<\/p>\n<p>Speaking on behalf of its members, the Chairman Indigenous Contractors<br \/>\nForum , DESOPADEC. Comrade Francis Obule demanded full payments of to<br \/>\nthe indigenous contractors with a caveat to engage the State<br \/>\nGovernment is violent protest the next time is she fails to meet their<br \/>\ndemand stressing, \u201cWe need our money\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Comrade Obule accused the new DESOPADEC Board of granting Indigenous<br \/>\nContractors \u201cSelective\u201d and \u201cPercentage\u201d payments noting that<br \/>\nthey(Indigenous Contractors) have not received \u201cany good payments \u201c<br \/>\nfrom the DESOPADEC Board.<\/p>\n<p><script src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\" async=\"\"><\/script><br \/>\n <!-- www.deltanewsroom.com --><br \/>\n <ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: block;\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-2163942495525027\" data-ad-slot=\"1411897411\" data-ad-format=\"auto\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\/\/ <![CDATA[\n(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n\/\/ ]]><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Comrade Obule noted that the Indigenous Contractors Forum embarked<br \/>\non the first warning protest to DESOPADEC due to the failure of the<br \/>\nManaging Director, Chief Williams Makinde\u2019s led DESOPADEC Board failed<br \/>\nto act positively on their complaints.<\/p>\n<p>Comrade Obule afurther noted that members of the Indigenous<br \/>\nContractors Forum borrowed money from the banks, money lenders and<br \/>\ncooperatives to execute their contracts with the Board with one of<br \/>\nthem loosing his car in the process, but regretted the manner the<br \/>\nmoney from them even when they don\u2019t get any payments since the new<br \/>\nBoard assumed Office.<\/p>\n<p>According to Comrade Obule, \u201cWe want our full money , we want the<br \/>\ngovernor to release money to the board so that they can function well.<br \/>\nEach time we see in the newspapers that Delta State has receive<br \/>\ncertain amount of money but yet they come and tell us that there is no<br \/>\nmoney. 13% derivation is different from the state fund . it\u2019s meant to<br \/>\ndevelop the oil producing communities . So, if you withhold that<br \/>\nmoney, how can the communities be developed. We are now saying that,<br \/>\nhe should release the money .If you give somebody a farm, you must<br \/>\ngive him the cutlass to farm. So, if you don\u2019t trust this board,<br \/>\ndissolve it. We have sent a letter to the governor last week Thursday<br \/>\n, now we are here. This one is A warning protest, the next time we<br \/>\ncome here, whether you are a Jaguda, we will all die here. We will<br \/>\nnot leave here because we need our money. \u201c<\/p>\n<p>A member of the Indigenous Contractors Forum, Comrade Joseph Laminghan<br \/>\nwho corroborated the the submission of Comrade Francis Obule kicked<br \/>\nagainst inadequate funding of DESOPADEC Board, Observe the principles<br \/>\nof Contracting by Certificating demanding that they (Contractors)<br \/>\nshould be certificated and paid their monies in full.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, \u201c We are saying that if this Board is not competent<br \/>\nthe Governor should immediately find solution to this Board. DESOPADEC<br \/>\nis bridge of contract , peace. Therefore, to avoid conflict the<br \/>\nGovernor should do something now. We are giving more chance to<br \/>\nDESOPADEC most especially the Financial Department should behave<br \/>\nhimself henceforth.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Another member of the Indigenous Contractors Forum, Patience Olley<br \/>\nwho claimed to being owed sixteen million naira stated that payments<br \/>\nfrom the DESOPADEC Board has been unstable.<br \/>\nOlley who expressed tiredness especially the insincerity on the part<br \/>\nof the DESOPADEC Board said, \u201c We are tired. let them pay us our money<br \/>\nin full because that is what is normally done. When you work and raise<br \/>\na certificate, they will pay your certificate in full. But since this<br \/>\nnew Board come, We have not been able to get our money and we are<br \/>\ntired because the banks is drag us. They are taking our properties. We<br \/>\nare dying. Let the State Government release money to DESOPADEC so that<br \/>\ncan pay us our money.We have worked for it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Chief Protocol Officer to the Executive Director of Finance &amp;<br \/>\nAdministration, Comrade.
