Tukur Buratai, said 700 military personnel would be deployed to Liberia for Peace Keeping operations.<\/p>\n<p>Buratai stated this during the Graduation Ceremony of Nigerian Army Battalion (NIBATT) 38 United Nation Mission in Liberia, (UNMIL) in Kaduna.<\/p>\n<p>The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the COAS was represented at the graduation ceremony by the Chief of Training and Operation, Maj.-Gen, Hassan Umaru.<\/p>\n<p>The COAS said the deployment was being undertaken by the Nigerian Army Peace Keeping Centre (NAPKC) Jaji, Kaduna<\/p>\n<p>Buratai, however, warned the officers and soldiers to avoid untoward incidents that could tarnish the image of the Nigerian Army in particular and that of the nation in general.<\/p>\n<p>He said the Nigerian Army would not accept any situation where its troops were seen as soft targets or conducting themselves in unprofessional manner such as engagement in dealing with illicit substances.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI must also remind you of the United Nations zero tolerance policy on sexual exploitation and abuse.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Nigeria Army and indeed the Nigerian Government will not tolerate the contravention of these policies and directives.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDefaulters will be sanctioned appropriately, and you must work within the Rules of Engagement of the mission.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou must respect the culture and religious sensitivity of the people of Liberia,\u201d Buratai said.<\/p>\n<p>Also speaking at the ceremony, the Commandant of the NAPKC, Brig Gen, Adamu Dauda, urged them to always be good ambassadors of the Nigerian Armed Forces in particular and the nation in general.<\/p>\n<p>Dauda said the NIBATT 38 UNMIL \u201ccommenced the Pre-Deployment Training four weeks ago which the training was intensive and comprehensive.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe remained committed to providing enabling environment for learning,\u201d the Commandant said.<\/p>\n<p>(NAN)<a href=\"http:\/\/newsroom247.com.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/Nigeria-army.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-6861\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6861\" src=\"http:\/\/newsroom247.com.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/Nigeria-army.jpg\" alt=\"Nigeria army\" width=\"298\" height=\"169\" \/><\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/newsroom247.com.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/Alayo-2.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-9619\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-9619\" src=\"http:\/\/newsroom247.com.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/Alayo-2-300x250.jpg\" alt=\"Alayo 2\" width=\"300\" height=\"250\" srcset=\"http:\/\/newsroom247.com.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/Alayo-2-300x250.jpg 300w, http:\/\/newsroom247.com.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/Alayo-2.jpg 559w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><script src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\" async=\"\"><\/script><br \/>\n <!-- www.deltanewsroom.com --><br \/>\n <ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: block;\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-2163942495525027\" data-ad-slot=\"1411897411\" data-ad-format=\"auto\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\/\/ <![CDATA[\n(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n\/\/ ]]><\/script><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen.
