In good governance, all monies spent by government are budgeted and transparently applied.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat is what happens in other spheres; so for our sake, the issue of security vote should be done away with.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll monies to be spent should be transparently budgeted for, including the so-called security vote, so that it can be tracked, to prevent corruption.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Also, Mr. Wabba called for the removal of the immunity clause from the constitution, to enable the president, his deputy, governors and their deputies be prosecuted for criminal offences.<\/p>\n<p><script src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\" async=\"\"><\/script><br \/>\n <!-- www.deltanewsroom.com --><br \/>\n <ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: block;\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-2163942495525027\" data-ad-slot=\"1411897411\" data-ad-format=\"auto\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\/\/ <![CDATA[\n(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n\/\/ ]]><\/script><\/p>\n<p>He noted that such political leaders in other parts of the world do not enjoy immunity against criminal prosecution, adding that Nigeria should not be an exception.<\/p>\n<p>The NLC president said that immunity was hindering the fight against corruption and decried a situation whereby political office holders could not be prosecuted for criminal offence.<\/p>\n<p>He said, \u201cEven after they leave office, they use their influence and resources they have accumulated to frustrate prosecution.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have seen cases that lasted for eight to 14 years and were inconclusive.
