2019: Shunning The Wagging Tongues Of Lucifer By Ajogwu Jerry Ochada

Opinion

The political climate for the 2019 General Election in Nigeria seems not to be positively tensed compared to year 2014 that featured a dreadful atmosphere of campaigns with Alhaji Lai Mohammed spewing his talented venom at ease.
This is 2018, another eve to the general poll yet the opposition are not wielding a ‘fierce’ armour even though it is certain that the game changers are plotting the graphs behind the scene. It is politically distasteful to note that the most celebrated propaganda at the moment is the story of one cloned man from Sudan. I think we are more than this clueless tantrum as a country.
Politics in Nigeria should not be a venture for the illogical bigot and the shady dealers of corrupt adventures to poke nose and wag their lazy tongues as descendants of Lucifer. At this stage of our political development, national interest should be the inspiring basics dictating our political craves with well meaning citizens striving to shun the old reigns of campaign of calumny arising from poverty of the mindset and the overuse shade of political deception.
In a healthy clime, this is the most ample moment to ensure and instil a well structured, robust framework of voters education in anticipation of a free and fair elections but here in Nigeria, this is another aberrant period for the rich politicians and aspirants to splash cash on the faces of the unrepentant sycophants wearing a price tag with the hope of winning elections at the confinement of their ill managed cabals.
Let me reiterate my submission, sycophants are not vehicles that transit the electorates to the polling centres on the day of elections. Praise singers are the standby ambulance specialised in taking politicians to their political ‘resting place’. In other words, the dubious pursuits of these brand of mischief makers has proven to be successful in killing the political fortunes of well meaning politicians because they can only praise sing but can never influence the intent of voters with exception of the gullible minded, confused nationals, hunger defined urchins and the stark illiterates who are compelled to act due to their pitiful predicament perhaps because they are victims of circumstances beyond their control.
Politicians and interested political actors who are aiming the margins of victory in the 2019 General Election should learn how to identify, carefully mingle or manage and trash the evil intentions of these periodic disciples of doom. They lack the political wherewithal to win votes for any candidate they applaud. They are simply bunch of misguided failures scavenging to live in a complex clime because of the fear of the unknown.
Another wagging tongues of lucifer that must not be taken serious are the class of citizens renowned to front the wailing circle. They kick start their hullabaloo immediately after the election and they continue making jest of themselves all through the tenure of their victims but they do not possess a permanent voter card and are not participants of the electoral process. These set of nationals are the REAL problem of Nigeria. Many persons who are guilty of self disenfranchisement are quick to give reasons for their inactions, foremost among their excuses is the lazy belief that their votes will not count, hence they choose not to participate in the electoral process. Absolute none sense!

It is the civic responsibility of every citizen (18 and above) to participate in the electoral process. To this end, with special interest in the dictates of our fundamental human rights, I implore the Federal Government to categorically declare the non participation of eligible voters in a General Election as a crime against the state.
Let it be defined and strictly enforced: ALL ELIGIBLE CITIZENS MUST VOTE. This is a bid to ensure that before you wail in the aftermath of the elections, what was your contribution during the election? In contradiction, thugs, praise singers and stooges who were not successful in enforcing their schemes are chieftains in the circle of wailers because they failed woefully in their attempt to install an associate failure.
As the race towards the 2019 General Election is gradually gaining momentum, Nigerians must ensure they do not fall victims to the old tricks of recycled politicians and their God fathers. It is another epoch time to build a solid foundation for our nascent democracy with premium interest on the free and fair outcome of the whole electoral process. In all, the wagging tongues of Lucifer must be shunned, if at all we are willing to get it right.
